- Provide an environment in which competence-based work can be done by offering experiential activities.

- Be genuinely curious about what drives them, makes them act, inspires and motivates them.

- Map the motives for working with the youngsters. If necessary, work with sample cards with motives on them and arrange them according to their importance.
- Let young people come up with examples of learning situations from these different areas of life.
- Visualize the learning process in a drawing or collage. Also make room for goals and intermediate steps. What can I influence myself? Adjust in reflection if there is little insight due to clarifying and confronting questions.
- Facilitate a volunteer workplace. Here youngsters have the opportunity to experience a workplace where mistakes can be made.
